My first highway drive

Its been more than 6 months since I bought my car and I've never driven on the highway. Last week I got a chance to experience the drive in the highway , thanks to my friends bunty , chubby and vadda. We decided to go on a once day trip to kabini.Kabini is around 230 kms from Bangalore and our plan was to go to orange county for lunch and Jungle safari.

We left bangalore early morning at around 7 am , took the NICE road parallel to Banneraghatta road. NICE road's empty stretch gave me an opportunity to drive my car at maximum speed and within few minutes we were in mysore road. After a brief stop for breakfast midway , we were in outskirts of mysore by 10 am. The road to kabini from mysore was pretty good except for the narrow roads compared to the mysore road.

Orange county was inside the village, we had to go through a bumpy ride for the last few kms to reach the resort. On arrival , we were greeted by the resort staff. The staff were kind enough to give us cane juice. The cane juice helped me regain some energy after the morning trip. We enquired about Jungle safari but came to know that there were no spots available for the safari as the resort was almost fully occupied with guests. Thankfully we were allowed to have lunch for a nominal charge.

Orange county resort is known for its beautiful and serene atmosphere. We rested in the lounge and admire the calmness and beauty of nature. It was past 12.30 when we decided to head for lunch. It was a buffet lunch with a lot of variety. They had Indian , Continental and ethnic food. The view from the dining table was awesome , we took our own sweet time relishing the tasty food. By the time we completed our lunch it was close to 2.30 pm and it was time for some photo shoots! We went around the resort taking pictures and were ready to leave the resort by 3.30 pm. This time my friend chose to drive my car. One the way back ,we stopped at kabini dam for some more snaps. After few hours of drive , we had vada and tea at maddur and were ready to hit the road again. We stopped at kadambam restaurant since some of my friend wanted to take home puliyogare. Kadambam is known for its puliyogare rice. I remembered the good old college days , when my friends and I used to eat puliyogare daily in the college canteen catered by kadambam.

We reached bangalore by 9 pm , by the time I dropped my friends and reached back home it was around 10 pm. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive with my friends. How I wish we stayed at orange county for 1 more day if not for the exorbitant price for accomodation.
